Control Freak could be the One
15 agencies from around Australia have been shortlisted for the prestigeous One Show advertising awards in New York on May 5-9, including two from Adelaide, Clemmenger BBDO and local indie shop Showpony Advertising.
The Showpony entry is a part of the Control Freak campaign for Bridgestone’s Adrenalin performance tyres, which included a cinema spot, website, point of sale and interestingly, a toy. It’s the toy which is up for an award under the Innovative Marketing category.
Showpony Creative Director, Parris Mesidis said, “As nerdy as it sounds, for the guys in the creative department this project satisfied a life long ambition to create their very own action figure. There aren’t too many jobs where you paid to do that sort of stuff!”
The Rundle Street agency has enjoyed a pretty good run at award shows of late, picking up 11 finalists and 3 of the 12 awards handed out at the recent Adelaide Advertising and Design Awards.
Showpony Managing Director, Jamie Scott said “We were pretty happy about our AADC night, but being shortlisted in an international show, this is a big deal for us.”
