Cinemagoers are generally younger than the population with 46% of visits made by people in the key 14 to 34 demographic.

Cinemagoing has increased against all age groups in the last few years, with the most dramatic growth seen amongst the over 25s.

The older age groups are also well represented in the cinema audience with 53% of visits now made by people aged 35+.
