Material Requirements

Visual Components for Kine Transfer

Material can be supplied in a variety of formats although Digital Betacam or digital files are preferred. Material shot on HD can be supplied in HD file format, alternatively tif files can be supplied on DVD or CD, or on tape such as DTF, DTL or AIT.

The laser transfer process through Atlab has advanced image enhancing capabilities such as resizing, pixel sharpening, dynamic grading, intelligent resolution interpolation, contrast and gamma control, adding film resolution supers and logos and advanced noise or grain reduction using SGI and proprietary software.

The data or video files are then transferred to hard-disc where they are rendered at film resolution and then recorded onto 35mm at extremely high resolution.

Audio Requirements

All cinema commercials require a Dolby audio mix which can only be done at a Dolby approved studio.

The sound track should be supplied fully mixed, complete and printmastered onto either 35mm magnetic stock, or an optical disk (MOD) for a digital SRD soundtrack. Otherwise, sound should be mixed in six (6) separate stereo (L&R) tracks - music, dialogue and effects and delivered on DAT or DA88. Additional voice over tracks should be supplied on a fourth separate track.

All tracks must have a common time-code and 2 pip start point, and preferably have tones at the head of each track.
