2008...set to break box-office records

2008 looks set to be the biggest year on record at the Australian box-office. With only two months til the end of the year, the 2008 box office has grossed $770m and is 6% ahead of the record year of 2004 year to date.

Cinemas are sure to be full during November and December with highly anticipated movies to suit everyone’s tastes - the latest Bond flick Quantum of Solace, the much hyped Baz Lurhman epic Australia, the lively High School Musical 3 plus the hilarious Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa

Five 2008 releases from a range of genres have grossed in excess of $25m including The Dark Knight, Mamma Mia, Indiana Jones, Sex and the City and Kung Fu Panda. The Dark Knight is now the 7th highest grossing movie ever in Australia after making close to $46m.

Summer is traditionally a massive time of year at the cinemas and this summer will be no different. Last Summer the number of frequent cinemagoers increased by 15% against the average for the year while usage rates of other media fell during their respective off-peak seasons.  (Source: Roy Morgan)

Digilites - Now Showing

In-foyer advertising opportunities have taken a leap into the future with Val Morgan's Digilites, a digital advertising network installed into over 100 cinema foyers throughout Australia.

Digilites are 50 inch HD digital displays, vertically positioned in high traffic areas of cinema foyers and concourse areas, providing a powerful opportunity to connect with moviegoers. They are an ideal compliment to broaden the reach of an existing on-screen campaign or a highly effective cinema presence for advertisers not already on-screen.
