The Despicable Me franchise has gone from strength to strength since the world was introduced to the hilarious little yellow characters in 2010. After a solid box office return for the original Despicable Me, the franchise has since cemented itself as the highest grossing animated film franchise of all time, even expanding beyond just the big screen into short films, television specials, several video games and a theme park ride.

In 2022, the franchise hit new heights with Minions: Rise of Gru which became the 5th highest grossing animated film of all time in Australia, guaranteeing that Despicable Me 4 will be a sure-fire mega hit when it hits the big screen in 2024.
