Faces of Val: Account Manager, Ruby Wright.

Meet Ruby Wright, our stellar Sydney-based Account Manager.

Hailing from London, Ruby moved to Sydney in June 2023 and joined our Cinema sales team just two weeks later! Ruby truly is a breath of fresh English air and we couldn’t be luckier to have her in the team.

Introducing Ruby, one of the many faces of Val…

If your career were a movie, which three movie titles would best capture its essence and why?

The Devil Wears Prada – I worked in the beauty industry for years and started out as an intern at Estée Lauder Companies.

The Wizard of Oz – I followed the yellow brick road from London to Sydney!

Pursuit of Happyness – This movie title perfectly sums up my approach to life and my career.

Summarise your typical workday using three emojis and give us the inside scoop on what each one represents.

👂 – The majority of my time is spent listening to my clients and finding solutions.

👀 – Watching movies and on the lookout for new opportunities for my clients!

👄 – Always chatting with my team and/or eating snacks (Oreos or Party Rings: IYKYK)

Your ideal work lunch: cooking up a five-course meal in the office microwave or embarking on a quest to find the best sanga in town?

Best sanga in town, either South Dowling or Brooklyn Bridge Deli. Make it spicy and end it with a Butter Boy cookie.

If your professional growth had a fragrance, would it be a bold, invigorating scent like fresh coffee beans, a calming aroma like lavender, or something completely unexpected? Justify your choice.

A very fitting question as I worked for fragrance brand Jo Malone London for years!

Classic English rose, paired with lemon for an unexpected twist and sandalwood to leave a lasting impression.

Midday recharge: Would you prefer a power nap in a cozy office hammock or a brisk stroll to explore the best local lunch spots? How does your ideal lunch break reflect your approach to work-life balance?

My ideal break is spent having a laugh with my work besties over a long lunch followed by a walk in the sunshine. Fresh air, humour and steps does wonders for my mind.

If you could have the quirkiest, most unexpected line in your email signature, what would it say?

Signing blockbuster deals and turning popcorn dreams into cash money, one reel at a time.
