Deadpool & Wolverine: set to slice up big box office success.

The Merc with a Mouth is back, and this time, he's teaming up with everyone's favourite mutant for an adventure that promises to change the course of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Deadpool, the witty, foul-mouthed mercenary with accelerated healing, is set to make waves once again in the highly anticipated third installment of the Deadpool franchise, Deadpool & Wolverine.

Since his debut on the big screen in 2016, Deadpool has risen to become one of the most beloved and recognisable superheroes in the world. Known for its unique blend of mature humour and graphic action, the Deadpool franchise has amassed a dedicated fan base of comic book and film enthusiasts who simply can't get enough of the Merc with a Mouth's antics. With this in mind, Deadpool & Wolverine is the perfect platform for brands to connect with youth audiences, particularly those in the tech and gaming spheres.

In Australia alone, Deadpool (2016) delivered a staggering 2.76 million admissions and raked in an impressive $43.21 million at the box office, while the sequel, Deadpool 2 (2018), followed suit with 2.12 million admissions and $35.99 million in revenue. These numbers speak volumes about the franchise's enduring appeal and ultimately guarantees a huge return for the long-awaited third entry.

It’s important to note that Deadpool & Wolverine won’t just be another superhero movie. With Hugh Jackman reprising his role as Wolverine after seven years, following what was believed to be his final outing in Logan, Hugh Jackman is donning the claws one last time in Deadpool & Wolverine. After the resounding success of Logan, which was the first superhero film ever nominated for a screenwriting Oscar, audiences’ demand for Wolverine has never been higher. In addition, the ongoing bromance between Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman has only fuelled fans' excitement, with Reynolds convincing Jackman to return for one last hurrah in a buddy, road trip-style film.

In December 2023, well-known American ticketing company Fandango named Deadpool & Wolverine as the most anticipated movie of 2024, beating out the likes of Dune: Part Two, Despicable Me 4 and Joker: Folie á Deux. This overwhelming excitement is further evidence that Deadpool & Wolverine is poised to become one of the biggest cultural moments of 2024.

Get ready for “claw-some” comedy and chaos as Deadpool & Wolverine slashes into cinemas on July 25.
