Faces of Val: Account Executive, Molly Benham.
Meet Molly Benham, our bright Brisbane Account Executive.
Warm and upbeat, Molly’s enthusiasm shines through in everything she does. Grateful to combine her love of movies with her career in cinema sales, she’s an integral part of Val Morgan Cinema’s close-knit Brisbane team.
Introducing Molly, one of the many faces of Val…
Alright, spill the tea: How did you find yourself in the advertising industry, and what’s been the best part of your journey at Val Morgan Cinema so far?
I studied Communications at university so I always knew I wanted to get into something within the realm of media and advertising, but it started as many media jobs do, with a classic LinkedIn job post. My long-time friend who also works in media sent me the job, knowing my love of movies would make me the right fit. I'm thanking her for that still even two years later.
The best part of my journey at Val so far is the incredible team we have in Brisbane. We're a tight-knit group and it's great to be a part of a team that supports and trusts you to do the job well, while also knowing how to have a fun time. The cinema industry perks are also high on the list!
If your career were a movie, which three movie titles would best capture its essence, and why did you choose them?
Labyrinth – entering the world of media at first felt a lot like Labyrinth in navigating a whole new landscape and meeting a wide variety of personalities, with a lot of fun on the way.
Scooby Doo – beyond being a BANGER of a film, I appreciate the team dynamic. I've always loved working in a team environment and have made long-lasting friendships from all jobs I've had.
Perfect Days – to me that film is a great reflection on appreciating the small things in life. It can be challenging to stay in that mindset when things get busy, but it's something I strive to do.
Your ideal work lunch: cooking up a five-course meal in the office microwave or embarking on a quest to find the best sanga in town?
Best sanga in town! Our Brissie office is constantly on a quest to find the best lunch specials around town and have a well-established voting system with various criteria – it's serious business.
If your morning routine were an Olympic sport, what would your gold medal event be, and how would you describe your winning strategy?
Maintaining steady hands despite the caffeine overload of back-to-back coffee meetings. Winning strategy is opting for a matcha over a second iced long black!
If your professional growth had a fragrance, would it be a bold, invigorating scent like fresh coffee beans, a calming aroma like lavender, or something completely unexpected?
It would be a fresh, citrusy scent like bergamot. Bright yet calming, I like to stay level-headed, friendly and positive amongst the balance of work and life.
If you could have the quirkiest, most unexpected line in your email signature, what would it say?
