DreamWorks’ next big adventure is one you won’t forget.
From DreamWorks Animation, the studio behind Shrek and The Wild Robot comes Forgotten Island, a must-see family adventure set to be a highlight of the September school holidays.
The film reunites Joel Crawford and Januel Mercado, the co-directors behind the Oscar-nominated Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, which earned over $22M at the Australian box office, as they return to direct Forgotten Island.
Forgotten Island follows two lifelong best friends on the verge of drifting apart, until a mysterious portal pulls them into a fantastical world that puts their bond to the test. Voiced by H.E.R. and Liza Soberano, the film centres on a relatable story of friendship and change set within a visually rich, otherworldly journey. The film draws on the real-life friendship between directors Joel Crawford and Januel Mercado, who first collaborated on Kung Fu Panda 2, grounding its emotional core in authentic human connection.
Forgotten Island releases in cinemas September 17.
