Introducing Camilla, one of the many faces of Val…

Alright, spill the tea: How did you find yourself in the advertising industry, and what’s been the best part of your journey at Val Morgan Cinema so far?

Like many, I didn’t set out to be in media but am very happy I landed here. For a while, I thought about pursuing radio production which led me into a broad communications degree. However, during an internship I quickly learnt the fun and perks are actually sales side.

There have been countless highlights during my time at Val Morgan, but honestly, the best part has always been the people. Over the past seven years, the team has evolved through many iterations, each one bringing its own kind of magic. Every version has been a hoot in its own way, and those connections are what I’ll always remember most.

If your work life had its own soundtrack, what three songs would play on repeat?

Work B**ch - Britney Spears: When I need to lock in and get 👏 it 👏 done!

Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You) - Kelly Clarkson: Working in cinema teaches you to embrace feedback and turn rejection into motivation.

All I Do Is Win - DJ Khaled: To celebrate those sweet wins that we worked hard on.

Midday recharge: Would you prefer a power nap in a cozy office hammock or a brisk stroll to explore the best local lunch spots? How does your ideal lunch break reflect your approach to work-life balance?

I love a walk. As a vitamin D deficient girlie, I need to make time to get outside and get those steps up. It’s like a hard reset for your afternoon motivation.

If your work ethic were a culinary creation, what would it be?

Definitely a comforting bowl of soup. I like to think I’m warm, reliable and full of heart. I’m the kind of person who tries to keep things steady when it gets hectic, blends well with any team and tries to make sure everyone feels supported. And like any good soup, I’m at my best when there’s bread.

In the superhero league of workplace skills, who are you and what’s your origin story?

I think I am a blend of Batman and Wonder Woman in a way.

I’m not the most tech-savvy (still getting used to the ‘new’ Outlook), but like Batman, I like to be prepared and rely on facts to guide my decisions.

At the same time, I always want a peaceful outcome. My time at Val has taught me to lead and approach situations with empathy, much like Wonder Woman.

If your Teams background had a mind of its own, what whimsical scene or surreal landscape would it choose during your next virtual meeting?

I am currently planning my next trip to Japan, which has my social media algorithms full of food, destination and attraction recommendations. So Teams might virtually whisk me away to a bustling food market!
