Everything you need to know about The Odyssey.

If there is one theatrical event that has commanded attention well before release, it's Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey.

Nolan's first film since the Oscar-winning phenomenon Oppenheimer is already generating extraordinary anticipation, with IMAX 70mm tickets selling out a full year before release within hours of becoming available, despite not a single second of footage being publicly released.

Few films are generating more anticipation among young male audiences than The Odyssey. Expected to over-index strongly among males 14–39 (208ix) and affluent NEOs (175ix), the film offers brands a rare opportunity to connect with premium audiences at blockbuster scale.

Based on Homer's legendary poem, The Odyssey follows King Odysseus on his perilous 10-year journey home after the Trojan War, encountering mythical creatures, deadly sorceresses and gods along the way. Widely regarded as one of the most important works in literary history, the story provides the foundation for Nolan's most ambitious production to date.

With a reported budget of $250 million USD, The Odyssey is Nolan's most expensive film since 2012’s The Dark Knight Rises. The film is also the first feature ever shot entirely using IMAX cameras, with more than two million feet of IMAX film used during production, making The Odyssey one of the most ambitious filmmaking undertakings in recent memory.

Matching the scale of the production is the talent assembled. Christopher Nolan has brought together one of the most impressive casts in movie history for The Odyssey, with Matt Damon leading the film as Odysseus alongside Anne Hathaway, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron, Lupita Nyong'o, Jon Bernthal and Mia Goth. The cast have been equally vocal about the ambition of the project, with Damon urging audiences to experience the film in IMAX and Holland describing himself as "absolutely blown away by the scale, the scope" of Nolan's vision.
