Alright, spill the tea: How did you find yourself in the advertising industry, and what’s been the best part of your journey at Val Morgan Cinema so far?

It all began back in 2018 when I was a fresh high school graduate looking for a part time job while studying Marketing at uni. My best friend was working at a HOYTS site at the time and sold it to me as “the best job ever, with an amazing crew and cheap movie tickets.” I was immediately convinced.

A week after applying, I started my first shift and absolutely loved my time on site. I even joked back then about one day working at Val Morgan Cinema. After that, I spent some time with the HOYTS Corporate Solutions team. Before I knew it, a Coordinator role opened up at Val Morgan Cinema, and I was knocking on the door, excited to join such a fun and lively industry.

Seven years, and six roles within the company later… here I am!

The best part has easily been the people. The team at Val Morgan Cinema is truly top notch and makes every day a good day.

What’s your go-to “I need to lock in” song? What about it gets you in the zone?

If I need to lock in, I’m pressing play on my “Daylist” and letting the Spotify algorithm work its magic.

Your ideal work lunch: cooking up a five-course meal in the office microwave or embarking on a quest to find the best sanga in town?

Definitely a lunch quest. It’s not about the destination, it’s about the journey. It gets me out of the office, clears my head and if the destination happens to be a bánh mì or sushi spot… even better.

If your personality were a party mix lolly which one would you be and why?

The red frog — Familiar, dependable and easy to get along with.

What does a perfect day off look like to you?

Sleeping in until around 9am, meeting a friend for breakfast and a walk, heading home for some solo recharge time, then finishing the day with a wine (or two) with friends in the evening.
